Why do so many of us care so much about what other people think?

If you're truly on a path of purpose, you are living a life that is authentically yours, defining success on your terms, and marching to the beat of your own drum. When we're wholly focused on getting real with our best self, we don't even think about what other people think!  We have joy and fulfillment in our life and a heightened sense of … yep, you guessed it: PURPOSE! 

 

Sometimes we fall off the path and end up making poor choices in an attempt to fit in or make others around us happy and satisfied with our decisions. This takes a lot of energy, and usually (if not always) results in a lack of joy and in extreme cases debilitating bouts of depression.

 

In this episode of Purpose Lounge, I introduce listeners to the concept of "fitting out" vs. fitting in. I first learned about fitting out in my integrative nutrition coaching certification training.  According to Joshua Rosenthal, the founder of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, fitting out is about embracing and celebrating what makes you unique rather than feeling the need to change or hide a part of yourself to fit in or be accepted.  

 

It is my belief that we cannot even recognize what our purpose is, and start to live our best life if we're not getting real with our best self!  I talk a lot about unleashing the inner unicorn. By fitting out, you're doing just that!  That magical unicorn that lives within all of us is your best self!  Set it free and discover a life brimming with energy, laughter, love, and health!
